Finally got my hands on an S9 to convert to a space heater! Things are looking up!

Just need to get a few silent fans then build it out.

How much was it? Can you share a link to where you got one?

not sure if he got it here, but cryptocloaks has a slew of kits.

That’s my next stop! Need some adapters and might pony up and get that case.

Do you know, offhand, how much power one of these draws?

If I remember correctly up to 1200 WH. But they recommend tuning it down for a heater.

Got it through kaboom racks

Cryptocloaks has a lot of parts though to help, that is my next stop.

It was approx $100 for the S9 (finish price was $102)

They seem to be out of stock. I’ll keep looking.

I also ordered from kaboomracks. They are clearly very busy so the turnaround may be a bit slow, but from what I’ve heard they do a great job of testing and cleaning the miners when they come in.

The miner I received looks good! My experience was nice, and went pretty smoothly! Hope yours comes through soon!

Congrats! About to fire mine up for the season as well. 🔥🔥

This is the warmth!

I have mine in the basement, I haven’t changed any fans and don’t mind the noise as it’s fairly isolated, but I very much want to change out the power supply fan—that high pitched little MF’er.

Is that the most highly pitched fan!? The one inside the power supply?

I wish I could isolate it somewhere but our house doesn’t have a basement and everything echos! 😂😂

Indeed it is. Regarding the echos, you could put up some sound insolation/diffusion. I mean quality stuff, not egg crate garbage.

I will be on the same path as soon as mine arrives! Are you going with the cryptocloaks noctua set up or the ultra-quiet cloudline s6?

I was thinking the noctua fans but ultra-quiet might be better. Will look into that.

Here is the build I’m looking at. You basically drop the two end noctuas and and adaptors and add a $120 ac infinity cloudline s6. I think you can get an adaptor for that online too. It’s pricey, but I’m tempted because I want to be able to put this in a bedroom. Zach Bomstra even talks about this fan on a recent bitcoin audible as the fan everyone chooses after doing research. None of the other options are quiet enough or they draw too much power or don’t pull enough air.

That looks pretty good! Might need to pivot on my build.

I’m still on the fence! I think my all in build cost is like $250 vs $325 depending on the build! That $70 might be worth the bedroom aspect though!

I also don’t know how well it fits in a case

The case is my hang up too. I’d rather make my own somehow instead of shelling out for the cryptocloaks case, but it seems like best option if I don’t end up going with the cloudline.. decisions decisions
