i got pretty lucky finding a dude who is a butcher and can source goat... this one is brand new... was tied up to the back of his trayback truck awaiting his doom

last time he received it already killed and frozen, this time he's doing this task himself i guess, i've seen him with dressed carcasses of rabbits hanging up freshly skinned

looking forward to in a year or three when i finally get my land organised and have my own little herd... i want to mature them a bit more... a lot of people don't like the richer flavor of sheep when it's older, at around 2 years, aka "mutton" but IMO same as beef, that's when you get the best fat content and that's the most important part of the meal, the protein is good as is all the other things but the fat is the backbone of what makes it so good for you

so, yeah, i'll be castrating them before they get too big

and so looking forward to having my own fresh raw milk too... this is a diet a man can live on... goat milk, goat meat, and home grown veg... the world can go to hell but up on my little plot on the edge of the mountain i will be fed and happy and slingin my rabbit and pigeon shooting 12 gauge ;D
