I thought the plan was to have different social media, e.g. without ads. I am not sure if that is a good idea. But maybe I misunderstood the idea.

From a protocol perspective, we are going to have all of it because no one can block anything. Then users can decide if they want to sell ads or not. If we are right, they are not going to sell. But they will always have the option to.
