Yeah, I thought about that too. You're sort of correct but you're also not correct.

I agree that suspending it from a fixed point would be better.

I agree that creating a fixed launch channel for the pendulum would be better.

Having said that, it doesn't matter. My fingers are still enough that I'm not affecting the motion in any significant way. You are assuming that any slight motion in my fingers/hand/arm is sufficient to cause the results to play out the way they did.

It's a valid variable to isolate and control if you're going to be pedantic about it, which is fine, but your assertion that my results are invalid is itself based upon the assumption that your objection is a significant one, and it is not. If my fingers/hand/arm was moving all over the place, I'd give you that, but I clearly held quite still other than the initial swing which is a valid part of the process. After the initial swing, I brought my fingers/hand/arm to a "good faith rest".

‘Quite still’ is not motionless and a small motion can have an outsized effect on the pendulum.

If you want valid results you cannot ignore the scientific method because it’s inconvenient.

If you have to hold the pendulum for the experiment to work then the hand should be placed in some kind of holding device such that it cannot move. I would also repeat the experiment the multiple people with varying beliefs on the validly of your claims.

If you do this I would accept the results and valid.

You saw two trials. You are assuming I haven't done my due diligence. You should be asking me questions right out of the gate, instead of assuming I'm some moron who has no background in mathematics or the sciences. Check yourself and show some respect by asking me questions before jumping to accusations that I'm wrong and somehow dumber than you.

I've tested more things than these pyramids. I've tested lots of things with profiles that many people other than myself have tried and gotten the exact same results. These pendula have dials on them so different bands of the spectrum can be isolated. I can test a piece of indigo gabbro and every single time it will test the same way. I can test these pyramids and every time they test the same way.

You didn't even ask what my method was for determining that this was a legitimate practice. I made sure not to know what to expect for some of the things I've tested and when I did that, the results I got were perfectly consistent with what the results should have been according to the person who progenerated the practice and coined its very name. Explain that. How did I get blind results at a perfect hit rate?

Stop being an asshole.
