just watched a guy cracked joe rogans atm pin code on youtube, are atm pin codes in US only 4 digits?
Discussion
LOL, yes. It’s so dumb.

Phone passcodes are usually 6 digits, I don’t understand it either. Also, I don’t get why we can’t tap our card (or phone) at the ATM instead of inserting it into the card reader. We didn’t even have NFC payments until years after Canada had them. Everything is so backwards here.
Did you guys go through a chip AND pin period? In Canada we went from swipe and pin, to this weird chip and pin, to tap.
It’s really weird and I don’t understand it. If you have a debit card you are prompted to enter a PIN, but you can just hit a button to bypass it and run it as a credit card, which doesn’t really do anything different, except you can’t ask for cash back at the register. And some places still ask for a signature, but you can literally write a smiley face because nobody writes a signature on the back of their cards anymore for the merchant to compare. It’s total clown world for payments.
i think you can probably update your atm pin to 6 digits, it was mandatory to change to 6 digits years ago for us here in indonesia. its kinda cool you can still have 4 digits tho
It probably depends on the bank. I think some have gone to 6 digits but I just checked mine and they’re still only using 4.
