I use Darktable almost every day, it's excellent. I think its devs are often frustrated by it being called a Lightroom replacement as Darkroom has pioneered multiple improvements in RAW processing, from a powerful (non-ai) masking system to significantly improved color science.

Those are nice features. The masking system definitely put Lightroom to shame when it was introduced.

The Inkscape developers seem a little onery, but onery devs usually make really good coders.
