You're right sometimes we get fooled by fiat social media! It is difficult to enter this new mechanism. And anyway if you spend hours of the day on us posting and commenting the followers are pleased if they grow up. This is undeniable! If not, who do I post my ideas for?
Figure out your "why" then go from there.
Why are you here? what's your objective? Once you figure that out we can dissect it more.

Don't forget you are the niche. There's only one of you. Here on Nostr one can monetize their specific knowledge without a third party. Don't sleep on that nor take it for granted. There's no probationary or review period. It's just input and output!

The reward for posts on X is leveraged by advertisers looking to rent out the billboard that is the profile. The advertiser don't care about your posts they just want to get their ad in front of an audience as they scroll down a news feed. Lot of people think their posts are good on their own as a result of this.
The cold hard reality is that your not as awesome as you think you are 😅

The big difference is on Nostr you have to do all the work yourself. There isn't an algo you can kowtow to to get easy follows. You have to post things people want to read.
Eventually, I'm sure there will be people who figure out the easiest way to get tons of followers and I'm sure they will be promoting their book or videos or classes. Even then, it's probably going to require more work than just posting thumbnails of yourself with your mouth hanging open.
