What makes the (Mastodon) ActivityPub protocol different (or similar to) the NOSTR protocol?

Similar idea, right?

As in taking your NSEC from app to app... same idea, right?

Or am I off?

Threads + Mastodon is very 'mainstream' and I'm not sure the normies see the use case... But here's what I was looking at earlier:
