Engineers *leave* it is their greatest bargaining chip. NDAs, Noncompetes, (+trapped H1Bs) and "trade secrets" took most of this power away. An engineer from a litigious company can find getting hired hard. The best bargaining chip for workers has always been the ability to *leave* and find work elsewhere.
