It's a great example any time anyone says "just charge sats" to stop spam.

It just means the feature will die 😂

I feel the same when I see a nostr client charging sats (eg zapstream, flotilla) just means no one who isn't already here will likely ever use it. I understand the logic on both sides of this. It's complicated obviously

For a client I agree. If I'm running software on my device it costs the developer nothing once I've obtained it.

Zapstream I understand though. Streaming uses a ton of bandwidth, and that's not free. Plus the rates they charge are almost nothing. I got free credit when I looked at it that worked out to 60 hr of streaming or something. I think anyone who is creating good enough content to actually be streaming should pull in more than the 2 or 3 sats/minute it costs anyways.

I'm not sure about flotilla. I've never been big on Coracle, so I don't really follow his other projects.

Yeah I understand, but it's a bit of a hurdle if you're onboarding someone who has zero sats (I realise zapstream offers a few hours free to begin with). Becomes another thing to explain too.

But yeah it's understandable.
