I have the personality of a liberal. I own this. I avoid conflict and I want people to get along. I try to understand everyone’s point of view. I navelgaze — including in this very post — and make decisions by weighing guilts. I’d rather everyone be happy, even if the wronged don’t get their due. I know this is a bit childish. I know some of it is the product of privilege, and some comes from trauma. Intellectual awareness helps me compensate for these biases, somewhat.
