I was pondering today on the significance of separating personal attacks from the context of a discussion. We say it all the time - don’t discriminate someone based on their race, gender etc.

And I was thinking what if Elon joins Nostr - would we welcome him with open arms ? Yes we may disagree on some things and dislike how he carries out other things and that’s ok. But it doesn’t justify ad hominem attacks nor cancelling every opinion and value he brings to the table, just because.

He is welcome here. Never had anything against him personally and actually agree with a lot of what he says and does. Definitely not everything obviously but he has a mind of an explorer and we need those kinds of people to make tough choices, break things and try something nobody would dare trying. I think a lot of the hate he gets here is misplaced aside from some things, but no human is perfect it’s just that we see his imperfections more prominently in the public light.

💯 - i disagree with a lot of his methods, intents and use of power but doesn't justify cancelling. Good to recognise his good inputs but def talk him out of his many bad decisions - ie foreign govt laws are not be all end all

If he is here I’ll probably suggest more ways he can use his power and make global changes ie :

1. decentralise supply chain.

Spread money transaction power globally. He would be less inclined to be obedient to a specific foreign gov’ts

2. Utilise satellites and Bitcoin to empower people in oppressed countries like Myanmar. Myanmar was top 4 entrepreneur country in SEA right before the military takeover. Maybe #2 is something Jack and Adam Back would have better handle on.

all precoiners are welcome. and those that are disenguine will build their own disenguine circles. nothing stopping them from building their social world here. Nostr is unique in that it provides a space for everything, however it's matched with opportunity to be pitted against the truth (& without censorship)
