I was teaching my kids about what causes a renaissance. It’s either revolution (daughter put that on the table) or an invention.

In a very real sense it's about making friends. I hated school but I always loved seeing my friends. My kids hate school but they always love seeing their friends.
After that, school is a terrible baby sitting service and an even less competent educational service.
"Bad company corrupts good character." This is why we homeschool. My kids are certainly under-socialized as a result though. Church and sports help, but still. Tricky balance.
i don’t know that ive ever met a homeschooled kid that wasnt a little smarter and more present that most of the kids their age.
