I'm not educated enough to comment on the lethality of COVID.

Personally I thought the mandates were overreaching and ironic.

If your 65+ and you have chronic illnesses that affect your respiratory system, yeah it's probably a good idea for you to get a shot to help you, should you get the disease

But a 30 something year old healthy man or women. Nah I'm good

I got 2 shots when I thought it would help protect my elderly family members and boss, once that was proven wrong. There was no reason for me to get more shots.

I've worked nearly everyday during the pandemic, never once got COVID. And I'm the one handing people their paxlovid. So I was definitely exposed multiple times.

For the entirety of the pandemic. What was the thing that allowed you to enter restaurants or a show, or get on a plane?, that dumbass COVID card. Well guess what.

Every time they sent us vaccines they included a box of those cards.

They sent them out so willy nilly and never asked us to keep track.

The amount of those cards out in the wild were astonishing. Very easy to fake, but you needed it to do anything.

I also think it's not stupid to blame the likes of Bill Gates and others who for the last 20 years has been saying' the next pandemic will be terrible' had almost preconditioned people to expecting the worst.
