time will (rapidly) tell. i see two possibilities if it is US gov’t created & this comes out: 1) public does not care, uses it anyway 2) public regards it as a desperate attempt of the West to re-control the global financial system & wholeheartedly rejects it. only way it succeeds anyway is if global south is convinced to sell resources in exchange for bitcoin—just onboarding tech bros is a stage but not a goal nor a mark of success. i personally think global south will not sell (out) in bitcoin & should trade in its own currency (can be decentralised mineral-backed chain like bitcoin but its own.)
