Is it because of the halving and reduced block subsidy? or is it because people are apeing into the network with misc BS to "celebrate" the halving?

Seems that in general the only perfect antidote to degeneracy is perfect fungibility because people will attempt to speculate on anything that can be uniquely labeled. Not sure about bitcoin, but as least nature (layer zero) has achieved this, e.g. there’s no such thing as “rare joules”
