I have different vegetables every time but this one is so beautiful and organic!

Want to see my other organic crops?

I used to grow organic kale, collards & chard too. I'd put them in smoothies with tumeric & ground pepper. 🤮

Then I found out about oxalates & the damage they do to your kidneys & blood vessels.

Plants generally don't want animals eating their leaves, stems & seeds.

I now only grow fruits, roots & herbs to eat.

Right 🫡

What roots?

Yuka, sweet potato & taro are what I grow

Because they're below ground, the plants greatest threat tends to be fungi. Yuka & taro need to be boiled in water to neutralize the cyanide/oxalates before eating, however.

I tend to grow them as a source of starch/calories rather than nutrition though.

Raw grated carrots are known to have antifungal properties.
