Yesterday I took the monorail home from work for the first time. It was built in 1962 yet it seemed so futuristic. It's incredible how advanced it felt.

Trains are impractical in many locations, monorails are faster and safer than buses, trains or subways. Monorails are less cumbersome and less obstructive on the ground level, they lighten the load on city traffic.

The monorail is notably safer than ground or underground public transit. There is virtually no opportunity for criminals and desperate individuals to loiter or spontaneously gain access and or flee/evade on foot. Each traveler passes through a gate/terminal with a worker present to confirm payment.
