Bitcoin doesn’t burn electricity. To produce it requires electricity, just like anything of value requires energy. Gold mining requires energy. That was a ELI5 explanation for you.

Of course, one would always see mining bitcoin as “burning electricity” as long as they don’t see why bitcoin is needed.

To understand that, you would need to understand the problem bitcoin solves. Which would require you to ‘see’ that there is a problem in the ‘money’

But that would require you to read about things like money, which everyone is cock-sure they understand.

It’s easier to say some random ass thing like gold conducts electricity, bitcoin burns it, which is more valuable?

Everything uses energy, only question is, is it worth the tradeoff?

What if we had abundant cheap clean energy? I doubt people would complain in that case. People who are brainwashed into thinking energy usage is something sinful.

Using energy is quintessential to live

I don't think there are thing more important than financial sovereignty, breaking away from the bankers chains.

Energy consumption of humanity will only increase and it’s a good thing. We’ll get better at efficiency.

But most importantly it’s the mindset of not understanding what bitcoin is and how it is better for the world, that’s responsible for this energy fud.

If a thing is useless, no amount of energy spent for it is useful. Conversely, if a thing is useful, no amount of energy spent for it is wasteful. And bitcoin is critically useful.
