So my wife asked me if I had ever read ‘Hatchet’ by Gary Paulsen.

I said that I did read it in like 6th grade and we started to exchange what we remembered about the story.

She was mortified whenever she found that the only thing I retained from it was that the MC had to wash his hair with a bar of soap in the river bc that always sounded so uncomfortable to me.

Apparently in other people’s opinions there were far worse situations I didn’t register at all 🤷‍♂️ but tf I will ever wash my hair with bar soap 🤣
