If I’m completely honest, I can’t bring myself to make low-time preference decisions 100% of the time (even as a Bitcoiner),

Partially because I like to be someone who’s not caught up in the past or the future, and partially because no one can even guarantee that they will have a future.

What are the sacrifices that are actually worth making, all in all? It’s impossible to know for many cases.

There’s no right answer just like there’s no wrong answer. Perhaps the idea of balance is only a myth.

Live your life, the way you need to live it

Do not feel pressured doing something that doesn't feel right

I don’t feel pressured. And in fact, I’m actually incapable of doing things that don’t feel right 😂

I consider this an incredible gift.

Yes, we are the same 🫂🥰

Just don't feel bad, not living up to a standard, other are trying to project on you

I won’t feel bad. Just sentimental at times.

We are the same

There is no rigth answer in what we want to our life to be 😎

maybe balance over time rather than in a particular instance?

Balance is so delicate. Can zoom in and out for completely different perspectives.

I’m obsessed

obsessions pass the time nicely. enjoy

It can also be toxic. There’s a balance 😂😉

Toxicity gives the space for obsession maybe? kek

High time preference sushi is always worth it for me. But that desire is tempered by the fact that my favorite sushi place about a 30 minute drive away so it's not really all that high time preference in the end.

I dunno, holding Bitcoin for a long time and having it in the back of my mind that I can wait to consume most things because of that stack has the effect of growing low time preference over time for the most important things. Maybe you start by making 5% of your decisions low-time-preference and that percent increases over time the more you have to choose between spending or saving now that you can actually save money. Then the things you do spend your real money on become so much more valuable to you.

True. Value is subjective.

As a woman who is mid 40’s … balance is often deemed as something to attain.

There have been times in my life where I have sacrificed parts of my life hoping it would pay off in the future … most worked. But that’s just luck 🍀

You must decide what is true for you.

To answer what I *know* is a “sacrifice” worth making I’ll offer 3.

1. keep your body as healthy as possible. I know this is true because if you get into an accident or have an injury it makes recovery ❤️‍🩹 easier … proven true for me and others.

2. Toxic people are draining. I allowed some to stay in my life for far too long based on them being family. Cutting them out has been healthy for both of us. IMO. And that was HUGE for me as I don’t seek nor judge others. But that relationship brought me sickness to see them.

3. Money isn’t real. Only love is. No amount of money will ever bring you happiness if you can’t find it in the simplest. Trust me on that. 💜🫂🥰

Wow!! Thank you!

These are all very true and I’ll for sure remember and live them out, trying my best.
