but in case that fails i think it is wise to move to the high ground anyway.

plus i miss serbia so much. best part of my life to date was living in the balkans. so i'll go back there. i don't feel that vibe here out in teh atlantic at all. this place is doomed. mostly. someone who already has loads of cash can prepare at the highest reaches of non-protected nature reserves, if they build deep foundations and keep all of the essentials, a herd of several kinds of animals, and a bank of seeds, but i'm not in that position. i need to feel confident that i'm building on solid ground.

what does he say about that the poles are already shifting slowly?

seems like other things are also bringing you back to serbia. Hope you find your safe place, probably best to start early in that case. Idk, how long would that catastrophic event last?

no, the geographical pole does not shift slowly, the magnetic poles move around a lot.

the geographical pole is confined by inertia and the coupling of the crust with the core, which is magnetically aligned to a strong degree with the pole of the sun.

the pole shift happens when the crust's binding with the core weakens (through increased magma temperature) and the external magnetic alignment conflicts with the current core field. it is a correction to bring the crust in alignment with the external and internal fields.

as for serbia... yeah, some of the best parts of my last 12 years were in that place. bulgaria was nice but serbia ... idk. it was just magical. i would have trouble explaining.
