follow counts on a decentralized network are a lie and easily abused 👁️

all you need to do is create millions of fake contact lists with your pubkey on it. nostr:note1sllq6tkqq5fmnxag5qdlk36sycpkvh4dkpneu70a7lyc05zpk0gsmgc2fm

Scammers be scammin’

Luckily I got my mute list.

Plus some secret sauce. I'm serious about educating relay operators and devs on how to keep a healthy Nostr ecosystem, and how a Nostr security team could function. I'm done with my exercise.

but it's good for us since it makes newcomers to believe that nostr is mainstream

also follow counts and other counts suck in general

The problem is the automatic follow they have when you create an account on primal. That circle jerk is gonna crash really hard in the future.. true freedom seekers will not use primal

I think you're just angry because you lost your first place.

lol?

this is such a stupid comment. primal has chosen completely different tradeoffs, tradeoffs that I find personally unacceptable. They are winning ux I’ll give them that, but I would never use a client that relies on a server that is not the nostr protocol. Maybe noone else cares, I will build for people who do care about these things. Having two different philosophies embodied in multiple clients is how we win, not a single client that “wins” over others.

also this original post is not a specific criticism of primal, its a problem with any client who counts follows from any contact list including damus, but yes lets make it a pissing contest. fuck off.

This is why I use both. #Damus first always, #Primal to keep an eye on.

It's not stupid if you felt it was against a principle

They aren’t winning ux.

They are just the client for middle IQ normies.

you think silly thoughts. then make dumb noises with your face hole 😂

follows, likes, zaps, none of them really mean anything if you don't know who controls the nsec, can literally be anyone, or even just one person

anyhow, leaderboards are for sports, not socialising, that whole gamifying of social is pretty fuckin shallow to say the least

it's all about that wot interactions that matter.
