So they seriously just waited for the guy to die then overhauled their entire lineup! feels disrespectful.
GLOCK-GATE

Glock just discontinued their entire commercial lineup—Gen 3, Gen 4, and Gen 5 models and announced a new V series.
The only survivors? Their Slimline series (43, 43X, 48).
Everything else stops shipping November 30th—including the 17 and 19 that have been the backbone of law enforcement for decades, plus the 22, 23, 26, 34, and 35.
They're calling it "streamlining the portfolio"—but it's happening right as lawsuits pile up over conversion risks.
The "Glock switch" is real: a tiny illegal device—that can be 3D printed in a home setup—converts a semi-auto Glock into a fully-automatic machine pistol. ATF demos show it in action.

How the Glock switch works:

Legal pressure is mounting—states and cities have sued, bans are spreading. California just banned NEW Glock sales (existing owners grandfathered).
Glock will continue to service discontinued models, but won't sell them new.
Stock is disappearing quickly. If you want a battle-tested legacy Glock, now is the time.

Discussion
Some people are really giving them a hard time, but it would have cost the company tens of millions of dollars to fight these lawsuits. In this case, Glock has become a scapegoat. I understand why they did it, but these types of switches are not going away. I don't want a V model until I know it's as good and dependable as my g19 series 5.
