General Motors is facing a multi-district lawsuit that claims the Detroit-based automaker allegedly violated its customers’s privacy by collecting and selling their driving information without proper consent. However, GM is arguing it did not violate their privacy because “driving a vehicle—which necessarily involves conduct that takes place on public roads—cannot form the basis for any privacy-based claim.”

gm to everybody except gm

Hope they lose many times over

What a retarded claim. Everyone drives out of their private garage and driveway to start their day, their argument immediately falls flat on its face.

It's unfortunate someone gets off on knowing where everyones going. We shouldn't track car usage.

"Driving a vehicle necessarily takes place on public roads."

How does that work exactly, if, and hear me out... you're driving on private roads??
