The Antichrist will weaponise three major factors of control;
1. The Food Supply Chain:
In a world increasingly dependent on centralised systems and globalised food distribution, the Antichrist will exploit hunger and scarcity to assert control. Just as in Revelation 13:17
"And that no man might buy or sell, save he that had the mark"
He will use access to food as leverage to force allegiance. Those who refuse the mark of the Beast may be starved or cast out of economic participation. This parallels the early Christian martyrs who refused to offer incense to Caesar, choosing famine and death over spiritual compromise.
2. Currency and Economic Control:
The Antichrist’s regime will be built on a digital or unified global currency, not merely for convenience but for total surveillance and coercion. The Fathers caution us against trusting in mammon; under the Antichrist, the economy will become an idol, and economic systems will serve as tools of spiritual bondage. Those who are not rooted in the Church and fortified by ascetic discipline may be tempted to trade their souls for economic survival. Here, the Orthodox call to voluntary poverty and almsgiving becomes a prophetic witness against the Antichrist's kingdom.
3. Transportation, Mobility, and the Exchange of Information:
In the modern world, transportation is deeply intertwined with digital identity, surveillance, and communication. As Orthodox Christian eschatology warns, the Antichrist will not merely restrict movement in a logistical sense, but will weaponize mobility and information flow as a means of spiritual domination and societal engineering.
The increasing reliance on digital IDs, biometric passports, and QR-based health or travel permissions foreshadows a system where the right to move freely may be conditional upon ideological or spiritual compliance.
