I think #Nostr would greatly benefit, if we had some Reddit style communities. I don’t know how to implement it via different relays or something, but in order for people to find each other and similar interests it would be great to have a place where all the discussion about a certain topic happens.

Maybe people could subscribe via hashtags?!

r/bitcoin was a big source of educational material for me, but if I had only come across Bitcoin stuff on Reddit it would’ve overwhelmed me in no time. I think something similar is happening with newbies entering #Nostr today.

Anyways if anyone else is interested in the following topics, hit me up in the comments, I’d like to connect:

#veganism #esperanto #anarchism #permaculture #anticonsumption #science #solarpunk #lunarpunk #privacy #piracy #meshnetworks #fungi #biomimicry #cosmopolitan #community #architectureporn #treehouses #technology #activism #streetart #lifehacks

I think we already have it, at least in amethyst. At the top of the feed, it says "all follows" - tap that and it shows all the hashtags you follow. So then you're in a little room with only conversation relevant to that topic.

No idea if people use it though... And we're all probably over labelling our notes.

Cool! I’ll check it out, thanks for making me aware 🧡

I want to follow scientific topics that are credible. It’s tough when these communities may opt in for more mainstream avenues because of exposure. I also would love to learn about programming but that seems to be difficult to find
