which clients actually use COUNT envelopes?

they have always seemed like a stupid idea to me, although i wrote a database engine that makes finding them a lot faster (there is an index it can scan to count them by pubkey/id/timestamp), does it really need to be supported or is it really very optional?

I had thought about it but assumed it would be poorly supported and held off.

my opinion is that the better design would have been to return only the event IDs that match the query then the client is free to request them when it suits the UX requirements.
