Bummer that Strike killed the debit card plan.

We need more tools to increase the interoperability of the fiat and Bitcoin networks, and this would have been a great one.

Hope you reconsider this one at some point in the future, nostr:npub1cn4t4cd78nm900qc2hhqte5aa8c9njm6qkfzw95tszufwcwtcnsq7g3vle

Why’d did they kill it? Regulation I’m guessing?

Today, we’re reaching out with an update about the Strike Card. After a lot of thought and consideration, we have decided to close the waitlist and put the launch on hold.

Our goal is to increase access to bitcoin and create more open, inclusive, and equitable payments for all. To better serve you, the community, and the world, we are refocusing our efforts towards building products that deliver the most value right now and will have a more significant impact in the short term.

This decision aligns with our vision of empowering people worldwide to participate in the global economy and our commitment to delivering products that have a meaningful impact on the community and beyond.

We appreciate your understanding and support even if this isn’t the news you wanted to hear. Thank you for joining us on this journey, and stay tuned as we continue to ship new products.

In the meantime, please don’t hesitate to reach out with any questions.

Yeah I mean a debit card is cool I guess but there are better things to focus on - probably debit card won’t make them much money either and will just be custodial bs

Maybe. Would have been useful to some who hold 100% Bitcoin and want a seamless way to interface with the fiat network.
