Keeping your Bitcoin in cold storage is one of the smartest things you can do. Honestly, the same goes for anything important like your pictures, favorite shows/movies, information, etc. None of that stuff is on a blockchain, it’s just out there in the open. If it gets hacked or the system goes down, you could lose it forever.

A lot of times when you hear about ‘companies being down’ or ‘connections not working,’ it’s because they’re getting hacked. It’s not just random glitches.

We’re clearly heading toward a time where cyberattacks are going to be normal, aka cyber pandemics. Storing your important stuff offline is just common sense at this point.
