there was a local young girl, 12 or 13 yrs old , on her way to a grocery store, she was approached by a man, he attempted to abduct her, she snapped a pic of him and his car as he fled. the cops had him within 20 minutes. anecdotal maybe, but the cell phone saved her. no doubt.

oh, and don't believe "studies" from the internet. sometimes they're not real.

Did you know that cell phones had cameras long before there were smartphones?

irrelevant.

the smartphone is a life saver. can't be denied. did you do thus study? why do you trust that study?

Completely relevant. Your story illustrates the utility of a phone with a camera, not a smartphone. I trust the study because the results match other studies I’m aware of and because these study confirm what I see in my work as a mental health professional. It’s what young people do with the smartphone that is harmful not something magically bad about the devices themselves. I see no benefit to a smartphone that can’t be achieved in a different way that doesn’t also have the risks that come with using a smartphone.

Cheers!

irrelevant because the smart phone has replaced the non-smart, can you even get a non-smart phone anymore?( rhetorical) doesn't matter. nonsmart is dead and is not coming back and good luck getting anyone off their smartphones.

you have no data. probably projecting. your anecdotal evidence is debatable. but I'm done here.

cheers, backatcha!

What an unpleasant fellow. That’s the first bullshit response I’ve had from someone on Nostr. It nice to get a reminder of why I avoid twitter.
