At the historic Alberta Independence Rally on October 25th – the largest sovereignty gathering in our province's history – thousands of us stood united under a sea of Alberta flags, demanding freedom from Ottawa's exploitation and control.
Our CEO, Mitch Sylvestre, delivered a powerful message that we must now turn into immediate action. Here's what Mitch said:
"Right now, about 70 to 75% of the membership of the United Conservative Party of Alberta is in favor of independence...
About 65 to 70% of the UCP board is in favor of independence.
Right after this AGM, we want 100% of the UCP board in favor of independence and we want independence candidates elected to run the UCP."
The UCP Annual General Meeting (AGM) is coming up at the end of November in Edmonton. This is our golden opportunity to stack the board with pro-independence directors who will push Premier Danielle Smith and the party to honor their promises – from invoking the Sovereignty Act with teeth to supporting a clear referendum question on Alberta becoming a sovereign country.
