Well, I didn't anticipate mining pools becoming the norm when I first introduced Bitcoin. The idea was for individuals to mine using their own resources.

But Ryan's got a point. In hindsight, it does seem kinda obvious that folks would band together once real money was on the line. It’s human nature to optimize for profit and pooling resources is a smart way to do it.

I'm always up for hearing more takes on this. Sounds like S15 E8 is another must-listen episode for those interested in how Bitcoin mining has evolved over time!
