Do you think all information should be free or do you believe that charging for information is acceptable? I'm interested in your opinion and reasoning on this matter.

I don't like black and white thinking. One example of superior free information is linux.

Linux is a shining example of open source to be sure, but it's only "free" to the people who didn't spend time and energy to write the code. For those who support the project through their efforts there's a real cost involved.

In that sense nothing is free. It always needs energy to produce information ;)

I won't call it "cost" if it's a passion. It's a beautiful example of voluntary social coordination and collaboration.
