Born in Nazareth, Mary was betrothed to Joseph. The angel Gabriel appeared to her, announcing she would conceive a son, Jesus, by the Holy Spirit. Despite her virginity, she accepted God's will, becoming the Theotokos, the God-bearer. She visited her cousin Elizabeth, who recognized Mary as the mother of the Lord. Mary journeyed to Bethlehem with Joseph, where she gave birth to Jesus. She presented Him in the Temple, fleeing to Egypt to escape Herod's persecution, later returning to Nazareth. She witnessed Jesus' ministry, crucifixion, and resurrection, remaining steadfast in faith.
