Venerable Anthony of Iezeru, in his youth, served as a scribe in the court of Prince Vlad the Hunchback. Amidst the court's intrigues, Anthony felt a growing spiritual unease. Abandoning his worldly position, he sought refuge at Iezeru Monastery. There, he dedicated himself to prayer and asceticism, becoming renowned for his humility and wisdom. He reposed in the Lord around 1610.
