Correct: #gold is useful even in the new creation, even when no longer scarce (unlike #bitcoin). ;-)

Don't get me wrong: bitcoin is better money for the current age, but gold deserves respect. We don't have to belittle it to make bitcoin look better. Gold is very good money. Bitcoin is even better money. Consider it good sportsmanship.

Gold will always be scarce, unless some unimaginably strange events happen.

Even if Bitcoin completely takes over the financial system & gold loses all monetary premium, gold would still be scarce.

We are referring to a passage in Christian apocalyptic literature, likely metaphorical, where the "street of the [heavenly] city is paved with gold" (Revelation 21:21).
