What does open mean? What does respect private property mean? These are fundamental issues that not all cultures agree on, hence the borders. It's reasonable to at least know who is coming into a country if one wants to maintain values like property rights. Economics doesn't solve everything. But I do think politics/government and economics should be totally separate.

Anyone who isn't a known criminal or threat who wants to assimilate and provide for themselves should absolutely be free to enter the US.

Those are good questions to think about.

Here's a suggestion I still am educating myself on - all restrictions of travel and movement impede economic progress, freedom, and human fulfillment. It creates poverty.

I intend to read Bryan Caplan's books on this to gain a better understanding of how and why.

But I'll tell you - every time I have to apply for a visa to go somewhere I can afford to on our very own Earth, send in fingerprints and facial scans for a passport or visa, my Soul sees that this is the very crux of the Matrix.

Borders and identities are the foundations that lead to war and pointless destruction.

Palestine and Israel. Tens of thousands dead. World in outrage. Protests worldwide. Death, mass destruction, suffering, children amputees, millions starving.

Thailand and Cambodia. The dumbest border war ever. Hundreds of thousands displaced. Soldiers died. Literally pointless.
