The cost to send 25 USD through the mail using government methods for consumers..

Money order $1.75

Stamp $.63

Self provided Envelope $.10

Coversheet + ink $.05

Total $2.53 or over 10% of the amount being sent. It'll take a day or two to arrive and the recipient will need to then deposit that money order. Very inefficient and costly compared to Bitcoin. I could have done an on chain tx for far less, let alone lightning. Don't let anyone tell you Bitcoin fees are too high.

I got paid for something on 6/28, and I’m still waiting for the funds to clear. Meanwhile, I’m sure my bank is making a spread on the deposit already.

💯 At least Bitcoin fees are going towards the ones providing value to the network unlike the conventional routes
