This is a strange interpretation of sending community feedback on a community dev forum of a FOSS project.

There are ways to contribute to FOSS without being a dev: design reviews, bug report, feature requests etc..

Devs can choose or not choose to work a particular issue.

Documenting the issue at hand, and collecting customer feedback helps devs inform what they work on next.
