Yes, because it will be under attack bots, haters, spammers...

They come as a package with the mass users.

If #nostr don't filter this enough, it will be hard to find interesting content.

If #nostr filter too much, you will not be able to explore new user thoughts and point of view.

It is just physics of social media.

Perhaps #nostr will find a third way, but for the moment all the social media face theses issues.

#nostr is too "small" to be face to theses yet.

So enjoy each moments and interesting notes here, find interesting npub, the most you can, before it will be harder to get them.

With a way to pay to access #nostr in BTC ?

I don't think pay access is a solution because it there is an financial interest to come and spam on #nostr, spammer will pay for that.

And you will loose all "poor" people voice, which is a selection that #nostr claim to fight.

I think it will be the usage and the value that will allow #nostr to know if it is a fake annoying account or not.

Because in the end it is not important to know if there is a good, bad, bot behind an npub.

The most important is to know what you do on #nostr

Do you annoy everyone, do you act like a hater or a coward. If yes and other don't want to hear you then it should be easy to tag it as spam. letting the user decide if he want to read notes from it or not, and mute it.

As we all have in our email app a "spam" folder. This should exist for the spammer / hater ... detected by #nostr

The final decision to mute should stay in each one hands.

That's my point of view. And i know it is not easy to protect users from noise AND allow everyone free speech and anonymity.
