That's not the point.

It may not be the point, but it's a point...

In 1938 the minimum wage was $0.25/hr. x40hrs = $10/wk, which was about 0.29oz of gold at $35/oz.

In 2025 the minimum wage is $7.25/hr. x40hrs =$290/wk, which is about 0.08oz of gold at $3,684/oz.

In terms of real purchasing power, minimum wage was 3.62 times higher in 1938 than it is today.

Said another way, the minimum wage should be $26.28 today. Not that I agree with government regulation of wages.
