Thanks to some analysis from our intern nostr:npub17plqkxhsv66g8quxxc9p5t9mxazzn20m426exqnl8lxnh5a4cdns7jezx0 , according to opt-in AppStore analytics one of the biggest issues with Damus is user retention. 99% of people stop using damus after 6 months.

In the next version we will be looking at ways to get mores users to that “ah ha” moment that gets them to stick around like all of us addicts.

Ideas welcome! Notifications is obviously a big one, but maybe we could make it easier to get people their first sats.

I'm new and have every intention of staying bc I get the bigger picture. But it's a big learning curve! Issues I still have: finding people to follow via the search (especially with hashtags), I'd like to actually follow a hashtag, and I can't participate with sending sats (sats/zaps...are they the same thing???) via Damus on my iPhone. The help I get is usually along the lines of "get rid of your iPhone...learn how to work around or code techy stuff..." which actually isn't helpful. I *get* the idea, and I'd *like* to get there, but I'm walking here and I'm not ready or trained for that kind of marathon. I don't feel like the experience is easy enough to get my friends/followers on board here yet, even *if* they saw the bigger picture.
