Yeah, so I've never understood why it never spread from there.

Probably because it's so expensive and nuclear fuel has such tight access controls. It's only militaries that use nuclear powered subs (and possibly ships as well?) The idea that a ship could be taken over to obtain materials to build more nukes isn't one that the superpowers are keen on.

Also, ships tend to sink sometimes and having radioactive material at unpredictable places is probably not good.

The oceans are full of uranium.

I was thinking that, too, but modern reactors are getting so much better. 🤔

Any resources off top of your head on where/how to learn about modern reactors?
