Nowadays almost all commercially available chicken meat globally are GMO Broilers fed with industrial feed which take 6 weeks to grow.
This was the reason we opted for 'slow food' and started growing our own chickens. An ancient, resilient breed with delicious meat and eggs. We keep them free range without any soy and industrial feed. It takes 8-10 months to raise a cockerel of this size. But for us it's worth it.
