She woke up to find her uncle Hamza’s body beside her, surrounded by flames.
Then she heard her sister Mimi’s voice and began searching for her, crying out, “Mom, Mom!” before running outside in tears.
To survive, Hanin had to walk through flames and charred bodies, unbearable trauma for a child her age.
Her uncle, nurse Ahmed al-Wadiyya, confirms that Mimi, her mother, and her father were all killed in the murderous #Israeli airstrike.
Hanin suffered second and third-degree burns on her arms and legs and now carries both the physical scars and the nightmare of being the only one left."
