I heard this is actually creating problems for even freshman level CS students. Younger kids are good at using apps, but don't know basic things like file trees because of all the sharing and context-based stuff that removes the need to use a file explorer most of the time.
Ack. Boring. I'll ask me.zhanghai.android.files in such cases for help. Neat full filesystem search.
