since I'm deep in the emoji/font rendering stack of notedeck at the moment I was surprised to learn that there are new gradient vector color fonts via the latest COLRv1 standard:
which also enables gradient + vector emojis:
neat. this will enable high quality emojis in notedeck! they currently look bad and grayscale at the moment. we are going to start working with the egui devs to move this along soon.
it's nice that browsers handle this all for you ... 😅 at least you learn a lot when you have to build everything from scratch.
