The cool thing about this spam filter is that the LLM provides an explanation of why it thinks something is spam, which i can include as a local reply to them email after my workflow marks it as spam.

The workflow so far is:

1. Feed in raw email -> generate analysis of if its spam or not

2. Feed in analysis -> get LLM to generate a single SPAM or NOTSPAM token by reading the analysis and making a decision

I then check for this SPAM token and mark the email as +spam and/or +analyzed with notmuch.

the tagging potential of this beyond just spam is huge. best of all its all local AI, so no need to feed my person emails to the openai machine.

This is huge! Finally, running *accepted* mailservers on your own may be easier again. The Spam rules are afaik one of the biggeat challenges to get your mailserver accepted by the big one, Gmail et al.

I don’t use gmail so spam is a huge problem for me. This should help * a lot *

Not sure if you're already using it but SimpleLogin makes it easier to deal with spam since you can give temporary email addresses to every new thing that requires one. All emails are redirected to your main email address(es). You can toggle a temporary address off if you notice it starts redirecting lots of spam. That way you can be really picky who you give your real email address to.

Not a fan of letting companies read my email, even if its just for spam filtering

That's fair.

Oh spam filter . I am lucky used proton , they filter everything suit your need . Gmail also good to it .

I like this one so I don't have to have other people reading my email to do that

Danm That's...... Crazy cool.... But also creepy if applied.... Like..... You know..... Nvm
