I’ve never claimed that humility was my strong suit. I try to maintain some semblance of grounded modesty, if for no other reason than to avoid attracting any unwanted attention to my many faults.

But I have to say, this was a well-written piece. I sort of wonder who wrote it. It sounds vaguely familiar but not entirely so.
